TRAINER Ricky Maund was suspended on Monday for six months by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board after being found guilty of using an alkalising agent on Uncle Keithy on race day before he was to run at Caulfield.

Chairman Judge Russell Lewis said the RADB was satisfied the alkalising agent was administered orally by syringe by Maund or foreman Luke Bryers under Maund’s instruction on April 18.

MICHAEL Walker returns to race riding at Pakenham Synthetic today after a month out. The jockey was sidelined with a prolapsed disc in his back.

Promiscuity races on

SIR John Monash Stakes winner Miss Promiscuity will have her next start in the Group 3 The Heath Stakes at Caulfield on August 29.

Lindsay Park co-trainer Tom Dabernig said because owner Robert Crabtree had decided to keep racing the mare and not send her to stud, they would give her a let-up.

“Otherwise we might have pushed on to the Bletchingly Stakes. This way we have given her a break and then we can see whether she can take us to the better sprints in spring, ” Dabernig said.

The trials are being used to test whether the track, out of action since April, will be ready to stage a meeting on August 5.

Of The Brave won his first two starts — the Debutant Stakes and Blue Diamond Prelude — before failing in the Blue Diamond.

Trainer Mark Riley said the colt pulled up with a virus after the Diamond.

Riley is setting him for the Coolmore Stud Stakes on Derby Day, October 31.
