Ramornie Handicap-winning jockey Chris Whiteley was at the centre of a fiery exchange with stewards after what he earlier described as a “career highlight”, labelling stipes allegations his ride on Rock Royalty caused some of the worst interference ever seen as “bullshit”.

Whiteley took particular umbrage with questioning from Racing NSW deputy chief steward Greg Rudolph, who was officiating at the meeting, when told his line to cut across the face of the Ramornie field shortly after the start had endangered several other riders.

The Gold Coast-based jockey responded: “Bullshit. Worse than a Golden Slipper?”
