Courier Mail form analyst Nathan Exelby gives his take on the Doomben Quaddie

In the run: Thinkhesaurus should cross Seeking More, Texan Lad goes forward with him, but probably takes sit. Rocky King can then sit outside Thinkhesaurus or cross them all. Territory back near last but suited by the assured speed.

Track: Good (4) Weather: 22 degrees with a possible shower.

RACE 5

Take note: Territory didn’t have the best of luck fresh and now actually drops in weight fro this easier race thanks to Cassie Schmidt’s claim. Will relish the speed and finish hard.

Did you know: Rocky King has only won one from seven at Doomben, but turned in one of his best ever efforts here two starts back. Ran sizzling time at the Sun Cst last time and will be hard to run down.

Early money: Rocky King has been easy down south, but solid with UBET. Similarly, Seeking More and The Storeman not well supported so far. Some money for Thinkhesaurus with tab.com.au

Nathan’s tip: Rocky King $2.80

Nathan’s danger: Territory $7.50

RACE 6

In the run: Dream Of Slips can cross to the rail and Hidden Pearl will come across with him. Will be no loafing though, as Handyman Bob, Flamboyer and True Royal can all kick up to ensure a good speed.

Take note: Hidden Pearl was gunned down under favourable weight terms at Ipswich, but winner had gun run and ran fast time. Previous effort set up super fast time this T/D and not many of these are capable of clocking those figures.

Did you know: Our Boy Nicholas started his career with Gai Waterhouse, but has won five of 10 since transferring to Toby Edmonds. This trip short of his best, but can get home hard with assured speed on.

Early money: Hidden Pearl is in from $3. Hydrazine has halved its opening quote, now into $41. Our Boy Nicholas and Bymonashee have proven attractive, in from double figures.

Nathan’s tip: Hidden Pearl $2.80

Nathan’s danger: Our Boy Nicholas $9

RACE 7

In the run: Spatha and Jazz Song kick up from inside draws, before platinum State and Tukiyo cross to set up a genuine speed from wider out. Tony Sears has ordered more aggressive tactics on Pillar Of Creation, so he won’t be far away either.

Take note: Riva De Lago was forced to make a long wide run at Ipswich and peaked in the last 200m. Needs luck from draw again, but he’s going very well this prep, as is Pillar Of Creation, who finished alongside him last time.

Did you know: Early favourite Jazz Song hasn’t won for more than a year and is soon headed for retirement. Fair enough effort last time in a strong race, but not convinced she has the eye of the tiger at the moment.

Early money: Riva De Lago and Pillar Of Creation friendless with tab.com.au, where Jazz Song has been $4 to $3.20. Black Cash has had friends, into $10 from an opening $17.

Nathan’s tip: Riva De Lago $5

Nathan’s danger: Pillar Of Creation $9

RACE 8

In the run: Speed from all places. Dubawi Dream and Heart Of Warrior will be prominent from inside draws, before pressure comes from Before You Think, King Ludwig and The Thomas Affair.

Take note: Heart Of A Warrior tumbles from 59kg to 54kg for Ryan Wiggins and will meet In The Genes 4kg better for the last start defeat.

Did you know: Soros is 455 days between wins, but this is the easiest race he has contested for a long time. Will have to go back from the draw, but assured speed will give him the chance to run on strongly.

Early money: Billy Aucash has been $15 to $9 and In The Genes $12 to $7. Lordag also has admirers, while Heart Of A Warrior has been easy from as short as $3 in early markets.

Nathan’s tip: Heart Of A Warrior $4.20

Nathan’s danger: Soros $16
