Chris Waller’s thinking ever since he decided on a Royal Ascot start for Brazen Beau has been all about the final 50 metres of the Diamond Jubilee on Saturday.

In a bid to prepare Brazen Beau for Royal Ascot’s daunting climb to the line, the trainer even tried to find gallops in Australia that had an incline that could replicate the famous English course.

Brazen Beau has been the superior sprinter on the straight 1200 metres at Flemington, winning the Coolmore Stud Stakes against the three-year-olds in the spring before taking care of the older sprinters, including Lankan Rupee, Chautauqua and Terravista, in the Newmarket Handicap on March 14.
