Tommy Berry has joined the chorus urging a rethink of conditions for Queensland’s winter feature races as his Tatt’s Tiara mount Najoom – the early favourite for the final group 1 of the season – languishes as second emergency for the Gold Coast major on Saturday.

Having been prepared to sweat hard to reach Najoom’s 50.5 kilogram feather weight for the Stradbroke Handicap – a race the filly eventually didn’t run in –  Berry is now sweating on Gai Waterhouse’s star three-year-old squeezing into the Tatt’s Tiara field.
