Sometimes horses just know. Sense Of Occasion wouldn’t have a clue how his name was derived, but maybe he knew what a McKell Cup win meant to everyone concerned at Randwick on Saturday.

“For all of us … we’re thinking of Guy,” managing owner Anthony Bell said after the four-year-old won his first stakes race a day after the first anniversary of his former champion trainer Guy Walter’s sudden death.
