Promising staying filly Anaphora has taken another step towards the Queensland Oaks with a last-to-first victory at Caulfield on Saturday. Ridden by Vlad Duric, Anaphora was backed from $12 to $8 in Saturday’s No Fuss Events (1600 metres) before scoring a short-half-head victory over Violent Snow ($12) with Tears Of Joy ($7.50) two lengths away third.

Trainer Tony Noonan said he would see how the daughter of Dylan Thomas came out of Saturday’s race before deciding whether to  send her  to Brisbane for the group 1 Queensland Oaks (2200m) at Doomben on May 30.
