JOCKEY Nick Hall heads to the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Tuesday to appeal against a 12-meeting suspension.

Hall was outed for his ride on Under The Louvre at Caulfield on Saturday.

The board will hear charges against Wodonga trainer David O’Prey on Thursday.

O’Prey was charged with taking Providential to Seymour races on January 22 with a prohibited substance in its system, and failing to keep appropriate records of treatments.

HILL HAS AMNESIA

INJURED jockey Jack Hill has post-traumatic amnesia after his Donald fall on March 27. Hill, who is walking but tiring quickly, remains in Epworth Hospital.

WORLD BEATER

PETER Moody has high hopes for Hi World, winner of the two races at the Sydney autumn carnival.

“I think he could be a Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate galloper in the spring, or at worst a Toorak Handicap, Emirates horse,” Moody said.

“He is a genuine talent.”

WANDJINA DEAL

NEWGATE Farm is building an impressive stallion list.

After snaring Dissident and Deep Field, the Hunter Valley stud has secured Saturday’s All Aged Stakes runner-up Wandjina.

Wandjina will have a chance to better his record by contesting the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

SOUR FOR SWEET

SWEET Idea, the Gai Waterhouse-trained mare whose owners include former Hawthorn and Gold Coast footballer Campbell Brown, will miss Brisbane’s winter carnival.

The mare who has won more than $2.4 million has a tendon injury, which rules her out of the Group 1 sprints after she finally saluted at the elite level last start in The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill last month.

MOODY ROADSHOW

FRESH from equalling Gai Waterhouse with three wins to top the Group 1 chart from the five weeks of the Sydney carnival, Peter Moody has turned his attention to the coming Brisbane carnival.

He sent half-a-dozen gallopers there at the weekend, headlined by Bring Me The Maid, runner-up in the Group 2 Arrowfield Stakes at Randwick a fortnight ago.

“She went super first up and she could contest the Group 1 races such as the BTC Cup, Doomben 10,000 and Stradbroke Handicap or go back to three-year-old races. There are plenty of options there for her,” Moody said.

MOSSFUN RETIRED

GOLDEN Slipper winner Mossfun has been retired after an indifferent three-year-old season.

Mossfun won four of her five races as a two-year-old but her best result as a three-year-old was second in the Group 3 Birthday Card (1200m) at Rosehill on March 21 from her four starts.

However she retires to Emirates Park Stud with more than $2.5 million in prizemoney.

VOBIS SALE THE RAGE

THE Inglis VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale continues to gather steam with the massive bonuses available to qualified gallopers.

The opening day produced an average price of $13,646, which was up nine per cent on last year, while the median was 47 per cent higher at $11,000.

The day’s top seller was a chestnut colt by Rothesay from the Montjeu mare MadamBubbles which sold to Laming Racing for $62,000.
