After three straight nights of flying between Singapore and Sydney, Corey Brown will head straight to the sauna on Monday morning in a bid to shed the last bit of weight to ride at the postponed opening day of The Championships.

Brown nibbled on a bit of fish for lunch during a fruitless trip back home on Saturday, learning Australia’s richest race day will be held over until Monday as Randwick tries to dry out after the big wet in Sydney.

It was little consolation to Brown and fellow overseas-based rider Craig Newitt, who will make four flights between Sydney and Singapore in as many nights in a bid to ride at The Championships.

“There’s never a dull moment, but I will turn up fit and focused and away we go again,” Brown pledged.
