BETTING GUIDE: FIVE OF THE BESTHOT TIPS: WEEKEND BEST BETS

RANDWICK

NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph). Tipster’s form: 01602

IT’S SOMEWHAT

Race 9, No.12

Awesome first-up and was entitled to race flat last time. Still thought the run was better than it looked on paper.

TAB Fixed Odds: $15

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 42539

DISCLAIMER

Race 3, No.2

Charged home from the rear in the Sellwood Stakes at Rosehill last week, suggesting the 2600m is right up his alley. Won’t mind the soft conditions under foot either.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5

DARREN PRENDERGAST (Super Racing). Form: 34356

ROYAL DESCENT

Race 9, No.6

Looks ready to peak after closing fourth in the George Ryder. Races well at the track and distance, has good wet form, and the services of star jockey Joao Moreira. Trainer is also shooting for his fifth win in the race.

TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50

SIMON MOY (Super Racing). Form: 30

DANE DE LAGO

Race 4, No.8

Has had his fair share of problems but if he brings his A-game get ready to pop the bubbly! Put it all together when he unleashed a powerful run late to take out the Dubbo qualifier. Will appreciate a bigger track and could bob up at juicy odds.

TAB Fixed Odds: $51

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 122

SUAVITO

Race 9, No.19

Star Victorian mare who has won her past four starts including the Group 1 Futurity Stakes. Drawn the inside gate and with no weight on her back will be in the finish at big odds. Luckless when resuming in the Oakleigh Plate behind Shamal Wind and showed what she’s capable of doing in the Mumm Stakes at Flemington with a dominant win in the spring.

TAB Fixed Odds: $15

CAULFIELD

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Tipster’s form: 1799

BOOMWAA

Race 6, No.13

Tough on-pace three-year-old. Will take power of beating with light weight.

TAB Fixed Odds: $8

ROD NICHOLSON (Herald Sun). Form: 20351

PRINCE HARADA

Race 6, No.14

Quality galloper returning from a year off. Has natural talent to win this low-rated race after Group efforts last time in. Came from a long way back to finish second in the Oakleigh Plate. Has explosive sprint and a touch of class.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.20

DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 01259

ESCADO

Race 7, No.10

Is never far away and is good enough to run a place. Past two runs have been solid. Has a tricky gate to overcome and hasn’t had any luck in recent runs. One of the hard-luck stories of the Manikato Stakes, but just needs some luck to be placed.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7.50

DOOMBEN

NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Tipster’s form: 0051

AMIZADE

Race 4, No.3

Talented three-year-old ready to peak after two runs from a spell. Comes out of a strong form race at the Gold Coast and this looks considerably easier. Expect money to come for him, despite the wet track query.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4
