Online bookmaker will stream all Victorian thoroughbred races free of charge to its customers from Monday.

Sportsbet customers must have deposited funds into their account once to access the live stream and race replays will also be available.

Customers can stream metropolitan and country races through the betting agency’s website. Access through the Sportsbet mobile app will be available from mid-April.

Sportsbet CEO Cormac Barry said in a statement that the deal put “live racing in the hands of punters on the device of their choice – anywhere, anytime”.

“Our 1.8 million customers will be able to access marquee events like the Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate and Caulfield Cup at home, at the pub, on the golf course, or on the road.” he said.

“Seventy-eight per cent of our customers placed a bet on our mobile app in February. This partnership with the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry will continue to drive that trend and crucially increase the wagering pie and bring in more revenue for the thoroughbred code.”
