Positive Start for Moshe

Breednet – Media Release – Thursday, 20 September 2012

Bel Esprit first season sire, Moshe, has certainly captured the imagination of breeders and is currently working his way through an exciting book of mares.

However, the reception from broodmare owners is not the only ‘positive’ about Black Caviar‘s younger brother.

Just a little over two weeks into the new season, several of Moshe’s mares have already been tested in foal, according to Eliza Park’s General Manager of Operations, David Somers … including the Elusive Quality mare, Miss Evasive.

A winning daughter of Bart Cummings’ dual Group One winner, Magical Miss, Miss Evasive is owned by Rick Jamieson’s Gilgai Farm.

Rick, of course, bred both Black Caviar and Moshe (pictured) and there would be more than a touch of ‘magic’ if he ends up having the honour of producing Moshe’s first foal!

Hoofnote: Black Caviar resulted from Bel Esprit’s first cover of the 2005 spring … 6am on 1 September. Rick will undoubtedly be hoping Moshe’s first cover produces the same kind of lightning.
