Never has an Australian racehorse captured the British public’s imagination like wondermare Black Caviar, the best sprinter in the world. And now the story of this stunning mare is about to hit our screens in two half hour programmes exclusively on Horse & Country TV.

Part one, Australian Story: Black Caviar goes back to where it all started – at a stud farm in Victoria. Discover how this incredible horse has transformed the lives of everyone involved in her day-to-day life, and meet her trainers, jockeys, owners, breeder and grooms.
At the time of filming this programme, Black Caviar was still unbeaten after thirteen runs, and had been declared the best sprinter in the world. Follow the exciting build-up to the mare’s fourteenth contest, which, if she wins, will equal Australian legend Phar Lap’s record – a nail-biting time for everyone involved in her training.

Part two, Black Caviar: To Set Before a Queen brings the story up to date to follow the mare’s training in the lead up to Royal Ascot, where she raced in front of the Queen.
Still unbeaten after 21 races, Black Caviar took on Europe’s best at Royal Ascot to win yet again, taking her unbeaten record to a total of 22 races. The programme includes stunning coverage of Black Caviar as a foal, from taking her first steps to her successes on the racetrack, and viewers are even treated to a virtual ride on the racing superstar, with coverage from a jockey’s eye view.
