There’s been a lot of media attention on Black Caviar recently (you think!) and a portion of the spotlight has shifted to her brother Moshe.

But as Tara Madgwick pointed out in last week’s Winning Post, Moshe has plenty going for him apart from a famous sister:

Eliza Park has a strong connection to Australia’s sprinting superstar Black Caviar given it co-bred her mother Helsinge and stands her sire Bel Esprit.

It’s therefore no surprise that her full brother Moshe will kick off his stud career at the leading Victorian nursery this spring.

A multiple winning brother to Black Caviar and half-brother to brilliant juvenile colt All Too Hard, Moshe will stand at a fee of $6,600.

Eagerly sought by stud farms throughout Australasia, Moshe provides Victorian  broodmare owners with the opportunity to tap into the some of the hottest bloodlines in Australia.

Indicative of the pedigree’s popularity is the yearling half-sister by Redoute’s Choice that was sold at Easter for a sale-topping $2.6 million.

Only lightly raced, Moshe won three of five starts including a six-length romp at Bendigo on debut in a blistering 56.95 seconds (just outside the course record established in 1999). Moshe also won twice over 1000m at Moonee Valley, the latter while carrying 59kg.

A big, strong, physically impressive individual like his famous sister, Moshe is sure to prove popular with breeders seeking a piece of the Black Caviar dream at an affordable price.
