O’Brien – Eclipse might be it for So You Think
Top Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien says dual hemisphere champion So You Think could have his last start in Saturday’s Group I Coral Eclipse Stakes (1m2f7y) at Sandown.
UK superstar Frankel is among the nominations for the Coral Eclipse Stakes but O’Brien said So You Think would attempt to win the event for the second time.
“The plan for So You Think at the moment is the Eclipse at Sandown next Saturday and that possibly could be his last race before going back to Australia,” O’Brien told the Sporting Life.
So You Think won his 10th Group I race when the son of High Chaparral returned to his best in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (10f) during the Royal Ascot carnival.
The stallion is currently negotiating the final stages of his career before the dual Cox Plate winner returns to Australia to begin his breeding career at Coolmore Stud later this year.
So You Think is one of 40 runners remaining in the nominations for the Coral Eclipse Stakes.
